1.16.010 - Citations or notices to appear—Procedures.¶

If a person is arrested for a violation of any law of the city, and such person is not immediately taken before a magistrate as prescribed in the Penal Code of the state, the arresting officer, whether a peace officer or a community service officer, shall comply with, and the release or nonrelease of the person arrested shall be governed by, the provisions of Sections 853.5 through 853.9 of Chapters 5C and 5D of Part 2 of Title 3 of the Penal Code of the state.
