§ 5.12.010. Service to Comply with County EMS Standards.

All ambulances operated within the City of Lompoc shall comply with any and all standards, policies and procedures set forth by the County of Santa Barbara Department of Emergency Medical Services, promulgated in accordance with its authority as the Local EMS Agency pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 1797.200, et seq. Such standards, policies, and procedures include, but are not limited to, training, certification, and accreditation of emergency medical technician-paramedics (EMT-Ps), and availability and levels of service including applicable move up/backup policies.

§ 5.12.020. Ambulance Rates.

A. The maximum rates an ambulance provider may charge for services in the City of Lompoc shall be those which are from time-to-time set by the City Council by resolution.

B. In determining such rates, the City Council may consider the provider's operating costs to provide such service to the City and shall make its rate schedule such as to reasonably cover all actual and anticipated costs of operation and shall also provide for reasonable profit.

C. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, the foregoing provisions relating to rate regulations shall not apply to any ambulance service provider who has entered into a contract with the County of Santa Barbara under the authority of Division 2.5 of the Health and Safety Code for a service area that includes the City of Lompoc, provided that such contract regulates the maximum rates to be charged by the provider for ambulance services.
