Chapter 12.20 — NUMBERING BUILDINGS

12.20.010 - Required—Figure specifications.

All persons having charge either as owner, agent or otherwise of any building within the city, whether residence or business property, and which building is not numbered according to the system of numbering prescribed by this chapter shall cause the same to be numbered by placing on such building the correct number thereof in a conspicuous place in metal figures not less than three inches in diameter.

12.20.020 - New buildings.

Every owner, or agent of such owner, of any house, whether residence or business property, erected within the city after the effective date of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall, within thirty days after the completion of such building, cause such building to be numbered according to the system of numbering such buildings prescribed by this chapter.

12.20.030 - Occupancy equals completion.

The occupancy of any building shall be equivalent to completion of the building for the purpose of this chapter.

12.20.040 - System.

The following system is established and adopted for numbering buildings in the city:

A.

Buildings shall be numbered north and south from Pine Street and east and west from Sacramento Street allowing twenty-five feet of space for each number and one hundred numbers to the block.

B.

The buildings on the north side of streets running east and west shall take the odd numbers and the buildings on the south side the even numbers. On streets running north and south the buildings on the west side shall take the odd numbers and the buildings on the east side the even numbers.
