2.05.010 Date of General Municipal Elections.¶
Prior to January 1, 2022, all general municipal elections shall be consolidated with the general district/school election as set forth in Elections Code Section 1302.
After January 1, 2022, the general municipal elections of the City shall be consolidated with the statewide general election date, which is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each even-numbered year. (Ord. 1030 § 2(2), 2018; Ord. 1017 § 1, 2017; Ord. 673 § 1 (part), 1981)
2.05.020 Applicability of California Elections Code.¶
When an election is held pursuant to Larkspur Municipal Code Section 2.05.010 and the election is consolidated with another election, the applicable provisions of the Elections Code shall govern the consolidation. (Ord. 1030 § 2(2), 2018; Ord. 1017 § 1, 2017; Ord. 673 § 1 (part), 1981)
2.05.030 Effect on Elected City Officers.¶
When a general municipal election is consolidated with the general district/school election, those City officers whose four-year terms of office would have, prior to the adoption of this chapter, expired on the Tuesday succeeding the second Tuesday in April of an even-numbered year, shall, instead, continue in their offices until no later than the fourth Tuesday after the day of the general municipal election. 2.05.040 Notice to Voters of Change in Election Date.¶
Within thirty (30) days after this chapter becomes operative, the City Clerk shall cause a notice to be mailed to all registered voters informing the voters of the change in the election date. The notice shall also inform the voters that as a result of the change in the election date, elected City officeholders’ terms in office will be extended and that no terms shall be decreased. The City Clerk shall send a similar notice within thirty (30) days after any subsequent change in the election date made pursuant to Larkspur Municipal Code Section 2.05.010. 2.05.050 Electronic and Paperless Filing of Fair Political Practice¶
Commission Campaign Disclosure Statements.
A. Definitions. The following definitions apply for the purposes of this section:
“Candidate” shall mean a candidate, as that phrase is defined in Government Code Section 82007, as may be
amended from time to time, for any City elective office for any general, special or recall election.
“Committee” has the meaning set forth in Government Code Section 82013, as may be amended from time to time.
“Contribution” has the meaning set forth in Government Code Section 82015, as may be amended from time to time.
“Electronic filing system” shall mean the electronic online filing and data storage system provided for by the city clerk for campaign statements, reports, forms, or other documents filed pursuant to Government Code Section 81000 et seq.
“Person” has the meaning set forth in Government Code Section 82047, as may be amended from time to time.
“Statements” shall mean any statements, reports, forms, or other documents required by Government Code
