Sec. 2-6.5-1. - Authority for establishment of office.¶
The office of director of finance is established pursuant to Government Code § 40805.5. The city manager is vested with the power to appoint the director of finance.

Sec. 2-6.5-2. - Compensation.¶
The city director of finance shall receive such compensation and expense allowance as the city manager shall from time to time determine within the compensation limits established by the city council, and such compensation shall be a proper charge against such funds of the city as the city council shall designate.

Sec. 2-6.5-3. - Functions.¶
The city director of finance shall perform such duties as are prescribed by Government Code §§ 40802 through 40805, by other general laws of the state, the provisions of this Code, the ordinances, resolutions and directions of the city council, and as directed by the city manager.
