8-1101 - Use prohibited.

Except as otherwise provided in Section 8-1102 of this chapter, it is unlawful for any person to land or launch a helicopter in the city.

8-1102 - Exceptions.

(a) Upon written application therefor, the landing and/or launching of a helicopter in the city in connection with (1) a special civic event, (2) the delivery of cumbersome or heavy apparatus onto the roof of a building, or (3) some other special situation for which no reasonable alternative to the use of a helicopter is available may be approved by the city manager.

(b) Law enforcement, fire suppression and emergency medical authorities may land and launch helicopters in the city in the pursuit of their respective responsibilities.
