§ 9.24.010. Shooting of projectiles prohibited—Exception.

A. Any person who shoots, slings, causes, permits, or allows to be shot or slung, any arrow or other projectile through a bow, compound bow, crossbow or slingshot is guilty of a misdemeanor.

B. Nothing in this section shall prohibit any person from shooting or slinging any arrow or other projectile through a bow, compound bow, crossbow or slingshot at an archery range established at an educational institution or otherwise permitted by the city.

§ 9.24.020. Discharge of firearms unlawful—Exception.

A. Any person who shoots or discharges within the city any gun, pistol or other firearm, or any air-gun or pistol or spring-gun or pistol, not in necessary self-defense or in the performance of official duty is guilty of a misdemeanor.

B. Nothing in this section shall prohibit police officers from shooting or discharging firearms in the course of duty.
