§ 6.12.010. Generally.¶
The regulations provided in this chapter are applicable for the vaccination of dogs and cats.

§ 6.12.020. Required.¶
Notwithstanding any provision of this title, every person keeping, harboring or having any dog or cat over four months of age in the city shall cause such dog or cat to be vaccinated with rabies vaccine by a person licensed by the state of California, or other state to practice veterinary medicine, on or before the latest of the following dates:
A. One year after vaccination with tissue phenolized vaccine;
B. Two years after vaccination with chick embryo vaccine;
C. Fifteen days after first acquiring such dog or cat;
D. Fifteen days after bringing such dog or cat within the incorporated territory of the city.

§ 6.12.030. Revaccination—Chick embryo vaccination.¶
Every person keeping, harboring or having a dog or cat within the city which has been vaccinated with chick embryo vaccine shall cause such dog or cat to be revaccinated within a period of not more than two years after such vaccination.

§ 6.12.040. Revaccination—Tissue phenolized vaccine.¶
Every person keeping, harboring or having a dog or cat in the city which has been vaccinated with tissue phenolized vaccine shall cause such dog or cat to be revaccinated within a period of not more than one year after such prior vaccination.

§ 6.12.050. Veterinarian's certificate.¶
Every person practicing veterinary medicine within the city who vaccinates a dog or cat with rabies vaccine shall issue to the dog or cat owner an original certificate and send a copy to the agency or department responsible for animal control.
