La Mirada Municipal Code Ch. 4.02 General Provisions

This title may be cited as the "Business Permit Law" of the city.

The purpose of this title is to provide a procedure by which certain specific businesses may be approved which also may require special investigations or require that certain conditions be attached in order to preserve the public peace, health, safety, morals or welfare of the residents of the city.

(a) No person shall commence, transact or carry on any business as listed in this title without first having procured a permit from the city.

(b) This title shall not be construed to require any person or company to obtain a permit prior to doing business within the city if such requirement conflicts with applicable statutes or constitutional provisions of the United States or of the state of California.

All businesses requiring a permit pursuant to the terms of this title, unless specifically exempted in this title, shall obtain and pay the fees applicable for a license pursuant to the terms and provisions of Title 5 of this code.

Unless otherwise specifically stated in this title, the fee for filing an application for a permit shall be fifty dollars payable in advance. This fee shall be nonrefundable and shall be used to cover the administrative costs incurred in investigating and processing the application for permit.
