§ 12.12.010. Plan adopted.

The scheme or plan for numbering houses and building entrances in the city, devised by J.E. Olive, Licensed Surveyor, and shown by those two certain loose leaf binders designated as “CITY OF KING NUMBERING SYSTEM NORTH AND SOUTH” and “CITY OF KING NUMBERING SYSTEM EAST AND WEST,” both marked as filed in the office of the city clerk on the thirtieth day of March, 1937, is approved and adopted as and for the official street number plan of the city.

§ 12.12.020. Plan conformance.

All main front entrances and exterior doors of houses or buildings fronting on or facing any street in the city shall be numbered to correspond with the number of the section or division of street frontage upon which it fronts as shown by the above-mentioned street number plan.

§ 12.12.030. Plan on file—Inspection.

The official street number plan shall be kept at the office of the city clerk and shall be open to public inspection during the business hours of each day and the city clerk shall, upon the request of the owner or occupant of any house or building in the city, furnish such owner or occupant with the correct number of such house or building as shown by said street number plan.

§ 12.12.040. Numeral requirements.

The number of each house or building entrance shall be placed over or above the door or entrance of such house or building or at some other conspicuous place near thereto and shall be indicated by plain, legible figures not less than four inches (102 mm) in height and shall have a minimum stroke width of 0.5 inch (12.7 mm) with the exception that when manufactured illuminated house numbers are used, the same shall not be less than two inches in height.

§ 12.12.050. Owner responsibility.

The owner of each house or building in the city shall at all times keep all main doors and building entrances thereof properly numbered in the manner provided by this chapter.

§ 12.12.060. Violation—Penalty.

Within ten days after receiving notice in writing so to do, the owner of any house or building in the city shall cause the main door or street entrance thereof to be properly numbered and failure to do so shall be deemed a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punished as provided in Chapter 1.04.
