Kern County Municipal Code Ch. 5.76 Soliciting Business

No person, persons, firm or corporation shall solicit customers, patronage or business for or on behalf of himself or any other person, firm, corporation, hotel, lodging house, apartment house, cafe, restaurant, boarding house or other business upon any public highway, road, street, railroad, train or vehicle or from any of the persons occupying or using such trains or vehicles, without having first secured permission in writing to do so from the owner, lessee or managing agent of such railroad or vehicle.

No door-to-door salesman or canvasser shall without prior invitation solicit business at residences between a time one-half (½) hour after sunset until nine (9:00) o'clock the morning following.

No person shall without prior invitation disturb another person in his dwelling by a telephone call to solicit business between the hours of eight (8:00) o'clock at night until nine (9:00) o'clock the morning following.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of an infraction.
