§ 4.04.010. Title.

This title shall be known as the Independence, Laws and Lone Pine water systems and rates ordinance.

§ 4.04.020. Authority.

Section 25690 et seq., of the California Government Code authorizes the county to organize, develop, distribute, and sell water to the county and its inhabitants for domestic, irrigation, agricultural, and other beneficial uses. Government Code Section 25696 authorizes the board of supervisors to establish the terms and conditions upon which the county will provide water and to set the rates for water furnished or provided by the county.

§ 4.04.030. Purpose.

The purpose of this title is to establish the terms and conditions under which the county will provide and supply water service, and to set the rates to be charged and collected for such water and water services, in the defined service areas of Independence, Laws, and Lone Pine.
