Chapter 5.28 — DANCES ON COUNTY PROPERTY

§ 5.28.010. Intent of provisions.¶
It is the intent of this chapter to regulate the use of all county property when said property or any portion thereof is used for the use of the holding of dances. (Ord. 313 § 1, 1976)
§ 5.28.020. Nonprofit organization defined.¶
"Nonprofit organization" means any organization, club or association which is organized for the purpose of providing a charitable, public, or civic service. (Ord. 313 § 2, 1976)
§ 5.28.030. Application requirements.¶
The board of supervisors shall prescribe by resolution an application form which must be completed by an applicant who desires to use any county property for a dance. All applications shall be submitted to and ruled upon by the administrator or his designated representative, and in no instance shall a commitment to rent the hall be made unless, in the administrator's opinion, the application is satisfactorily completed.

§ 5.28.040. Insurance coverage.¶
At the time of making application, the applicant shall show proof of insurance coverage in an amount to be set by resolution.

§ 5.28.050. Property rental and cleaning fees.¶
A. When county property is used for a dance by a nonprofit organization, said organization shall pay in advance:
A rental fee which the board of supervisors shall set by resolution;
A cleaning fee which the board of supervisors shall set by resolution; the cleaning fee shall be refundable if the hall is adequately cleaned within eighteen hours after the holding of the dance. If the hall is not adequately cleaned, a representative of the public works department shall determine the cost to the county of the necessary cleaning, and that portion shall be withheld from the cleaning deposit and the remainder, if any, shall be refunded.
B. The board of supervisors shall also by resolution set rental fees and cleaning fees to be paid in advance before the hall is rented by other than a nonprofit organization for a dance. The refundability of the cleaning fee shall be governed by the same limitations set forth above as to nonprofit organizations.

§ 5.28.060. Alcoholic beverage restrictions.¶
A. Under no circumstances may juveniles consume or possess alcoholic beverages at dances held on county property.
B. Adults may consume and possess alcoholic beverages at dances held on county property only if said beverages are purchased at said dance and a liquor license issued by the alcoholic beverage control has been secured for the sale of such beverages at said time and place.
