§ 9.24.010. Unlawful.¶
It is unlawful to hold any boxing matches, either with or without gloves, in any public or private hall, building tenement or in any public or private place or grounds in the city and all parties present at any such boxing match, whether as participants, seconds, judges, timekeepers or patrons are guilty of misdemeanors.

§ 9.24.020. Exception.¶
The provisions of HMC § 9.24.010 shall not be construed so as to prohibit boxing matches, when held with not less than eight-ounce soft gloves, exclusively by local or resident talent, for the purposes of amusement, practice or strictly charitable purposes; provided, that no such boxing match or glove contest shall exceed four rounds of not more than three minutes each.
