For statutory provisions authorizing cities to levy and collect a tax not to exceed $0.15 on each $100.00 valuation, to provide and maintain parks, see Government Code § 43200.

§ 3.08.010. Required.

It shall hereafter be the duty of the board of trustees of the city to levy a tax of not exceeding the sum of $0.15 on each $100.00 valuation of all property situated in the city, for the purpose of acquiring, maintaining and improving public parks inside the city.

§ 3.08.020. Collection.

The tax shall be collected at the same times and in the same manner as other taxes, and shall be used for the exclusive purpose of acquiring, maintaining and improving public parks.

The tax shall be in addition to all other taxes now authorized by law to be levied, and may be levied and collected for each fiscal year.
