§ 8.08.010. Inspection required–Stamp.

It is unlawful for any person, firm or corporation keeping, storing or having in his possession in any meat market, sausage kitchen, hotel kitchen, restaurant, eating house, lunch stand and peddling or delivery vehicle in the city, any beef, veal, mutton or pork without such beef, veal, mutton or pork being inspected by the State Meat Inspector, under the Director of Agriculture of the state of California and bearing the stamp upon such beef, veal, mutton or pork, the words, "California, inspected and passed," or inspected by the United States Government Inspector and bearing the stamp "U.S. Inspected and passed," or inspected by municipalities and bearing the stamp, "California, approved."

§ 8.08.020. Violation–Penalty.

Any person, firm or corporation, or agent or employee of any such person, firm or corporation violating any of the terms of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for a period of not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
