6.36.010 - License—Required.¶
It is unlawful for any person to hold, conduct, manage or assist in any way in the production or promotion or holding, conducting, or managing of any marathon dance, walk-a-thon, or other similar type of entertainment wherein persons engage in physical endurance or other types of contest continuously by keeping time to or with the aid or accompaniment of music, where such contest is to continue for a longer period of consecutive time than five hours, without a license for such contest from the license collector, as hereinafter provided, having been obtained.

6.36.020 - Rest periods required.¶
It is unlawful for any person to conduct any such entertainment as described in Section 6.36.010 for a longer period than five hours at any one time without providing for intervals of complete rest and cessation of at least two consecutive hours after any such period of contest. No periods of rest or cessation shall be deemed to break the continuity of the five hours' time during which the contest is allowed to proceed unless such, period of rest constitutes a complete cessation and freedom from such contest of the contestants for a consecutive and continuous period of at least two hours out of each four hours. Shorter periods of rest shall not be recognized as breaking the continuity of the contest in any way.

6.36.030 - Application—Fee.¶
The applicant for a license under the provisions of this chapter shall state the name of the person or persons who is to conduct the contest together with the name of all persons in any way sponsoring it or in any way responsible for the management thereof, the place at which it is to be conducted, the time during which it is to continue, and the particular conditions governing the contest and the management thereof. Such application shall be accompanied by a license fee as set forth in the County of Fresno Master Schedule of Fees, Charges and Recovered Costs and such license when issued shall designate the day or days for which it is effective.
