3.05.060 Fund created.

There is hereby established a “vehicle replacement fund” for the city. (Ord. 1497 § 1, 4-20-82. 1990 Code § 2-5300.)

3.05.070 Uses for fund.

The moneys in the vehicle replacement fund shall be used only for the replacement of city vehicles. The source of moneys for the fund shall be derived from depreciation charges plus inflationary factors made to the annual operating budgets of the city’s operating departments. In addition to such source, moneys received as insurance proceeds for destroyed or damaged vehicles shall also be placed in the fund.

Expenditures from the fund shall be limited to purchase of replacement vehicles in the existing fleet of city vehicles. Funding for the acquisition of additional vehicles shall be made from other financial resources; replacement of such additional vehicles, however, shall be made from the fund.

Interest earnings of the fund shall be credited to the general fund, from which vehicle maintenance and operating costs shall be paid. (Ord. 1497 § 1, 4-20-82. 1990 Code § 2-5301.)
