§ 2-15. FINANCE DIRECTOR.

§ 2-15.1. Created. [Ord. 82-5, S2]¶
The position of finance director is hereby created to handle the accounting and financial duties of the city pursuant to CaliforniaGovernment Code Section 40805.5.
§ 2-15.2. Powers and Duties. [Ord. 82-5, S2]¶
The finance director shall perform all the duties set forth in California Government Code Sections 40802 through 40805 and perform other duties as may be assigned by the city manager or city council or as required by law.
§ 2-15.3. Appointment. [Ord. 82-5, 52; Ord. 02-05, S1]¶
The finance director shall be appointed by the city council. The city council may appoint the finance director from among the existing officers of the city including the city manager. Said appointee shall serve at the pleasure of the city council pursuant to California Government Code Section 36506.
§ 2-15.4. Compensation. [Ord. 82-5, S2]¶
The finance director shall receive such compensation as council shall determine.
§ 2-15.5. Bond. [Ord. 82-5, S2]¶
The finance director shall furnish a corporate surety bond to be approved by the city council in such sums as determined by said council, conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties imposed upon the finance director. Any premium for such bond shall be a proper charge against the city.
