Chapter 9.48 — SKATEBOARDS

Sec. 9.48.010. - Title.

This chapter shall be known as and may be referred to in all proceedings as the County Skateboard Ordinance.

Sec. 9.48.020. - Definitions.

The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

Skateboard means a device for riding upon, consisting of an oblong or similar piece of wood or other material mounted on skate or similar wheels and designed for riding upon, usually while standing, including any device reasonably similar to the device described in this section.

Sec. 9.48.030. - Restricted use.

It shall be unlawful to ride or propel any skateboard, roller skate or roller blade within or upon the following areas:

A.

Any privately owned property without the consent of the owner, provided the private property owner posts a sign that prohibits the conduct and references this section. The posting of a sign is not required for this section to apply to single-family residential property.

B.

Any public property if the property owner posts a sign that prohibits the conduct and references this section.

Sec. 9.48.040. - Reserved.

Sec. 9.48.050. - Penalty for violation.

Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished according to the general penalties described in Chapter 1.24.
