Chapter 3.34 — ESTABLISHMENT OF FEES FOR IDENTIFICATION OF PARTIES OF INTEREST

Sec. 3.34.010. - Purpose.

Revenue and Taxation Code § 3701 requires the Tax Collector to make a reasonable effort to obtain and notify parties of interest of properties to be sold at proposed tax sales. The purpose of this chapter is to set the fee for identification of such persons.

Sec. 3.34.020. - Provisions.

Revenue and Taxation Code § 4112 provides authority for the County to charge a fee for expenses incurred in obtaining the names and addresses of parties of interest as defined by Revenue and Taxation Code § 4675.

Sec. 3.34.030. - Fees.

The fee to be charged in connection with properties to be sold at a proposed tax sale shall be the lower of: the lowest bid provided by a reputable title company located within El Dorado County for an acceptable report of a title search, or the reasonable cost of salaries and benefits of El Dorado County employees to develop the "parties of interest" information, as specified in the fee schedule in Section 3.29.040.
