Chapter 2.01 — OFFICE HOURS

State Law reference— Board of Supervisors to fix business hours of County offices, Government Code § 24260.

All County officers shall keep their offices open for the transaction of business continuously from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. every day, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

Provided, however, subject to prior approval from the Chief Administrative Officer, a department head may, on a temporary as required basis, alter the hours a County office shall be open to the public; and

Provided, further, that the office of the County Recorder may limit the acceptance of documents for recording purposes to the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and documents received between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. shall be recorded on the next business day in the order in which they were received on the previous day.
