8.64.050 - Potable water defined.

"Potable water" means, for both single-family dwellings and community water systems serving two or more premises, water of a quality which meets the Regulations Relating to Domestic Water Supply Quality and Monitoring of the California Department of Health.

8.64.060 - Adequate water defined.

"Adequate water" means:

A. For vertical wells serving single-family dwellings, the term means a well which shall produce either:

  1. Five gallons per minute at a stabilized water level during pumping, with at least one hundred (100) gallons of pressure tank storage; or

  2. Two and one-half gallons per minute at a stabilized water level during pumping, with at least two thousand five hundred (2,500) gallons of storage.

B. For horizontal wells, the term means a well that produces a minimum flow of two and one-half gallons per minute with minimum storage of two thousand five hundred (2,500) gallons or five gallons per minute with a pressure tank storage of one hundred (100) gallons after thirty (30) days of observation and with due consideration of seasonal fluctuations.

8.64.070 - Stabilized water level during pumping defined.

"Stabilized water level during pumping" means that level of water in the well which remains constant after a period of pumping at a specified rate in gallons per minute.
