8.16.990 - Standards.

All structures over one hundred (100) square feet gross in size that are located within any hazardous fire area of the city shall, unless otherwise permitted by the district fire marshal, conform to the following building standards:

A. Roof coverings shall be of Class C or better fire resistant material. This shall be as defined by Underwriters Laboratories, Incorporated, in the publication Building Materials Directory.

B. Openings in roofs, in underfloors and to attics shall be screened with a wire mesh with openings not larger than three-eighths-inch in size.
