5.40.010 Authority.¶
Pursuant to the authority provided in California Business and Professions Code Sections 21625 et seq. and California Financial Code Sections 21000 through 21002, the City of Cupertino establishes Section 5.40.030 authorizing the Santa Clara County Sheriff to act as the Cupertino Chief of Police within the meaning of those sections.

5.40.020 Definitions.¶
The definitions contained in California Business and Professions Code Sections 21625 et seq. and California Financial Code Sections 21000 through 21002 are incorporated in this chapter.

5.40.030 Authorization for County Sheriff to Act as Chief of Police.¶
For purposes of enforcing California Business and Professions Code Sections 21625 et seq. regarding secondhand dealers and California Financial Code Sections 21000 through 21002, regarding pawnbrokers, the Santa Clara County Sheriff is authorized to act as the Chief of Police of the City of Cupertino.
