§ 12.46.010. Pump track designation.¶
The city of Crescent City ("city") designates and maintains as a pump track facility (hereinafter "pump track") that area consisting of approximately eighteen thousand square feet, located in Beachfront Park near the intersection Front Street and D Street for the purpose of riding nonmotorized wheeled recreational devices.

§ 12.46.020. Hazardous recreational activity.¶
The riding of non-motorized wheeled recreational devices on the pump track is a hazardous recreational activity for participants and spectators. Pursuant to Government Code Section 831.7, the city will not be liable for injuries incurred by persons participating in or observing the hazardous recreational activities at the city's pump track.

§ 12.46.030. Pump track rules.¶
A. The following rules apply to the city's pump track:
Pump track is open from dawn to dusk.
Helmets, elbow pads and knee pads are required for all riders.
Children under twelve years of age must be supervised by an adult.
Only non-motorized wheeled recreational devices are allowed.
No motorized devices or toys, or bicycles with stunt pegs are allowed.
No outside obstacles or modifications to the track are allowed.
Fighting, weapons, profanity, alcohol, and tobacco are prohibited.
Riding off the pump track hard surfacing is prohibited.
Spectators, dogs, or other animals are not allowed within the perimeter of the track.
Riders must be aware of other riders, maintain a safe distance, and follow the established flow of traffic.
Know your abilities and ride within them.
Do not ride pump track in adverse weather or if the riding surface is damaged.
B. The city council may establish additional pump track rules by resolution from time to time.
C. The city is not responsible for lost or stolen items, or damages to personal property. (Ord. 844, 10/7/2024)

§ 12.46.040. Events or exhibitions.¶
Organized events, exhibitions, or contests, or any commercial activity proposed to be held at the pump track will be required to obtain permission and all required permits from the city. (Ord. 844, 10/7/2024)
§ 12.46.050. Penalty for violation.¶
A. Any person in violation of the pump track rules may be suspended from using the facility.
B. Any person in violation of this chapter will be subject to administrative citation in accordance with Chapter 1.24 of this code.
C. Any person in violation of this chapter may be cited and prosecuted for an infraction. Applicable fines for an infraction will be the same as those set forth in Section 1.16.030.
