Chapter 9.04 — FALSE PERSONATION OF POLICE OFFICER

§ 9.04.010. False personation prohibited.

  • A. It is unlawful for any person to:

    1. Falsely personate a police officer of the city;

    2. Cause, aid or abet the false personation of such officer;

    3. Falsely represent himself or another to be a policeman, agent, investigator or representative of the police department of the city; or

    4. Falsely represent himself to be connected with or employed by the police department.

  • B. No provision of this section shall be deemed to prohibit any act or representation prohibited by Sections 529, 530 and 650-1/2 of the Penal Code of California or any other state law.

§ 9.04.020. Wearing uniform prohibited.

It is unlawful for any person other than a police officer of the city to:

  • A. Wear the duly prescribed uniform of a police officer of the city;

  • B. Wear any distinctive part of such uniform; or

  • C. Wear a uniform any part of which is similar to a distinctive part of such uniform. (1964 Code § 17.39)
