§ 13-3. Authority and general plan consistency.

  • (a) This Zoning Code is a tool for implementing the goals, objectives and policies of the Costa Mesa General Plan, pursuant to the mandated provisions of the State Planning and Zoning Law (State Government Code section 65000 et seq.). All development within the incorporated area of the city shall be consistent with the general plan.

  • (b) The subdivision provisions of this Zoning Code are intended to supplement and implement the Subdivision Map Act, and serve as the subdivision ordinance of the city. If the provisions of this Zoning Code conflict with any provision of the Subdivision Map Act, the provisions of the Subdivision Map Act shall prevail.
