MEDICAL WASTE

There was hereby adopted by reference, by the City, for the purpose of prescribing rules and regulations for the protection of the public health and safety, Chapter 12, Division 8 of Title 6 of the San Diego County Code regulating medical waste, together with such secondary references as are included in those portions, eNective as of the date set forth in CMC 62.40.020. The provisions thereof shall be controlling within the limits of the City to include, without limitation, the fees, regulatory provisions and deKnitions, but excluding the procedural provisions beyond those speciKed for processing applications, conducting investigations, issuing permits and enforcing regulatory provisions. The eNective date of this chapter is October 5, 1989. (Ord. 1746)

The San Diego County Health OMcer, together with the Department of Health Services for the County of San Diego, is hereby designated as the Health OMcer for the City of Coronado with authority to enforce and observe within the City the provisions of this chapter.

A. A violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall be a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment in the County Jail not to exceed one year, or a Kne not exceeding $10,000, or both.

• B. Any person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall be liable for a civil penalty not to exceed $15,000 for each such violation.
