20.70.010 Purpose.

A. No person shall conduct a commercial activity within the City involving the use of Nve or more amusement devices without Nrst having obtained an operations permit: amusement device center, together with any other licenses and permits required by this code.

B. For purposes of this chapter, an “amusement device” is deNned as any machine, device or apparatus, the operation or use of which is permitted, controlled, allowed or made possible by the deposit or placing of any coin, plate, disc, slug or key into any slot, crevice or other opening or by the payment of any fee or fees, for the use as a game, contest, or amusement of any description, or which may be used for any such game, contest or amusement, and the use or possession of which is not prohibited by any law of the State of California.

The Director of Police Services is authorized to issue business operations permit: amusement device center, and to regulate activities related thereto.

At all times at which minors are admitted to the premises, there shall be an adult supervisor on the premises who is capable in terms of physical ability, emotional maturity, training, experience, equipment and authority of requiring patrons to use the premises in a lawful and orderly manner.
