Chapter 54-4 — FALSE REPORTS

54-4.002 - To sheriff.

No person shall knowingly:

(1)

Make or cause to be made any false or fictitious call or report to the office of the sheriff, that the person was the victim of a criminal offense; or

(2)

Cause the sheriff's office to respond to any false or fictitious call or report; or

(3)

Request or cause to be requested any assistance or investigation in connection with or as a result of any false or fictitious call or report.

54-4.004 - To county employees.

Every person who, not being under oath, in the course of official business with any officer or employee of this county:

(1)

Knowingly falsifies or conceals any fact; or

(2)

Knowingly makes any false statement or representation; or

(3)

Makes or uses any writing or document, knowing it to contain any false statement or entry, is guilty of a misdemeanor.
