§ 8-8.1. Regulation of Uniforms, Insignias and Vehicles Used by Private Patrol Operators.¶

a. No person, other than a sworn police officer or other personnel designated by the Chief of Police, shall wear any shoulder emblem or any uniform of a pattern or design or in the semblance of the uniform adopted or hereafter adopted by the Chief of Police for the use of the regular members of the Police Department or other personnel designated by the Chief of Police or wear upon any uniform any star, badge or insignia of a pattern or design that may be mistaken for or confused with the official police officer's badge or other personnel so designated by the Chief of Police.
b. No person other than a sworn police officer or other personnel designated by the Chief of Police shall operate a vehicle in the semblance by insignia of a pattern or design that may be mistaken for or confused with the official Police Department vehicles.
c. Any violation of this section is a misdemeanor.
