3.29.010 - Authority of City Manager.¶
The City Manager Shall adjust all existing taxes, Fees, and charges provided for in the Colton Municipal Code and by Resolution of the City Council annually in accordance with the increase or decrease in the cost of living. All adjustments Shall be based on the Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers. The CPI on January 1, 1978, equals one hundred. No adjustment Shall take effect until a report thereof by the City Manager is presented to the City Council and by Council order, filed with the City Clerk. The Council May reject but May not modify any or more of the adjustments in any report before ordering the report filed.
The foregoing does not relate to any taxes on Real Property including but not limited to ad valorem taxes thereon.
