16.17.010 - Minimum requirements.¶
At the time of making the Survey for the final map or Parcel map, the Engineer or surveyor shall set sufficient durable monuments so as to conform with the standards described in Section 8771 of the Business and Professions Code; provided, however, that the requirements of this chapter shall be considered as minimum.

16.17.020 - Boundaries.¶
Subdivision boundaries shall be monumented by a minimum of one-inch iron pipes, eighteen inches long, and tagged with the registration number of the Engineer or surveyor preparing the map. Such monuments shall be placed at all corners, angle points, beginning and end of curves on the exterior boundary of the Subdivision.

16.17.030 - Street centerlines.¶
Street centerlines shall be monumented in the same manner as provided for Subdivision boundaries.

16.17.040 - Interior Lot corners.¶
All Interior Lot corners shall be monumented by and tagged with the registration number of the Engineer or surveyor preparing the map. Such monuments shall be placed at all Interior Lot corners, angle points, beginning and end of curves.

16.17.050 - Interior monuments.¶
Interior monuments need not be set at the time the map is recorded if the Engineer or surveyor certifies on the map that the monuments will be set on or before a specified date, and if the Subdivider furnishes to the City a cash deposit or bond guaranteeing the payment of the cost of setting the monument.

16.17.060 - Permanent monuments in Streets.¶
All permanent monuments in Streets shall have at least three ties to points in concrete Curb, or to such other points as determined by the Engineering Division to be suitable substitutes. A Copy of said ties shall be furnished to the City Engineer.

16.17.070 - Approval.¶
Monumentation shall not be Approved as complete until such time as construction, done in conjunction with the Subdivision, is sufficiently complete to eliminate the probability of disturbance or destruction of the monumentation by remaining construction. The City Engineer shall determine the point in construction when Approval May be given.
