Sec. 3-1.201. - Theaters, minstrels, opera, or concert singers.¶
For the business of conducting or carrying on theatres as folows: If for less than one (1) month, ten dollars ($10.00) per day, if for one (1) month, twenty dollars ($20.00) per month; if for one (1) quarter year, twenty dollars ($20.00) per quarter; for exhibitions of minstrels, opera or concert singers, the license shall be the same as required for theatrical performances.

Sec. 3-1.202. - Circus, caravan, menagerie, or side show.¶
For the business of conducting or exhibiting any circus, caravan, menagerie or any collection of animals, or acrobatic performances, the sum of one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per day. For each show, for pay, or any panorama, figures, jugglers, necromancers, magicians, wire or rope dancers or sleight of hand performance, or any other side show, the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) per day.

Sec. 3-1.203. - Parading.¶
Every person, firm, company, or corporation owning, managing or having control of any circus, caravan, menageries or any collection of animals, who shall use the streets of the City for the purpose of parading the same, shall pay a license therefor in the sum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) per day. This provision shall be construed to apply to any circus, caravan, menagerie or any collection of animals, or acrobatic performances for which a license has been procured as provided for the Section 3-1.202.

Sec. 3-1.204. - Carnivals.¶
For every person, firm, association or corporation owning, maintaining, conducting or presenting a carnival in the City, the following license will be charged and collected in advance: One hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) per day, and an additional fee or charge of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day for each and every separate show, attraction or exhibition, carried on by such person, firm, association or corporation conducting such carnival; said fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day to cover each ferris wheel, merry-go-round, whip or any other riding device. Said fee is also made to cover attractions grouped under similar headings, together with all dancing shows, minstrels, "girl" shows, and other similar attractions carried on by traveling carnivals.

Sec. 3-1.205. - No fee.¶
The City Council reserves the right to issue any permit to conduct circuses, carnivals, caravan, menagerie or any collection of animals, as provided in Sections 3-1.201 through 3-1.204, without exacting a fee when said person or company is operating under the auspices of a fraternal, veterans or civic organization.

Sec. 3-1.206. - Fortunetelling, palmistry.¶
Any person, firm or corporation desiring to pursue or follow the trade or calling of fortunetelling, palmistry or any like trade or calling, shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day, payable daily in advance.

Sec. 3-1.207. - Boxing or sporting match.¶
Every person, firm or corporation, club or association conducting or engaging in a boxing or sporting match where an admission fee is charged, shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each and every such match or exhibition, and all applications for such matches or exhibitions must be presented to the City Council before any permit shall be issued.
The City Council reserves the right to refuse to issue any permit or permits, and also reserves the right to issue a permit or permits without exacting the fee as herein set forth.

Sec. 3-1.208. - Shooting gallery.¶
Every person, firm or corporation, club or association who conducts or engages in the business of keeping a shooting gallery shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter, provided also that a special permit be granted by the City Council for the right or privilege to engage in said business of conducting a shooting gallery.

Sec. 3-1.209. - Billiards, pool tables, bowling.¶
Every person, firm or corporation, club or association who engages in the business of conducting billiard or pool tables, bowling alleys or box ball alleys, or other physical games where pay is required as a fee for the use of said tables and other appliances, shall pay a license fee of three dollars ($3.00) per quarter for each billiard or pool table and five dollars ($5.00) per quarter for each physical game of any sort.

Sec. 3-1.210. - Dances.¶
Every person, club, association or corporation who conducts dances, and where an admission fee is charged, shall pay a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) for each and every dance given or carried on.

Sec. 3-1.211. - Hotels, defined.¶
The term "hotel" as herein used is defined as a house for the accommodation of travelers and the general public. The term "roominghouse" as herein used is defined as a house, other than a hotel, in which three or more furnished rooms may be rented.

Sec. 3-1.212. - Hotel fees.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business or conducting a hotel shall pay a license fee according to the following:

| More than 25 bedrooms: | $20.00 per quarter. |

Sec. 3-1.213. - Roominghouse fees.¶
Every person, firm, or corporation engaged in the business of conducting a roominghouse shall pay a license fee according to the following:

Sec. 3-1.214. - Brokerage business.¶
Every person engaged in the brokerage business, selling or buying real estate for the purpose of sale, and every insurance agent or broker shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.215. - Rent or debt collector.¶
Every person, firm, or corporation who at a fixed place of business sells or offers for sale, buys or offers to buy, or who collects or offers to collect rents or other debts on commission, shall pay a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.216. - Attorneys at law.¶
Every person engaged in the practice of law, as an attorney at law, or maintaining an office for the practice of law within the City limits shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.217. - Physician or surgeon.¶
Every person practicing as a physician or surgeon, and maintaining an office for the practice of medicine or survey, and every person engaged in the business of healing through the process of osteopathy, chiropractry, massage, baths, or any other process not included in the regular schools of medicine and surgery, shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.218. - Dentists.¶
Every person practicing as a dentist, or maintaining an office for the practice of dentistry within the corporate limits of the City, shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.219. - Undertakers.¶
Every person, firm or corporation who conducts or engages in the business of undertaking (mortician) shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.220. - Service stations.¶
Every person, firm or corporation maintaining or operating what is known as a service or filling station, or engaged in the business of selling gasoline, shall pay a license fee proportionate to the amount of said sales with a rate required to be paid as provided under Section 3-1.130.

Sec. 3-1.221. - Sale of motor vehicles: No fixed place of business.¶
Every person, firm or corporation who has no fixed place of business and who sells or offers for sale, buys or offers to buy automobiles, motorcycles or motor vehicles of any description, shall pay a license fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per quarter in advance.

Sec. 3-1.222. - Auctions.¶
Every person, firm or corporation, selling or offering to sell goods, wares or merchandise at public auction in a public place shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day or any part thereof. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to apply or prohibit any merchant, who has been engaged in a business in the City for a period of one (1) year or more, from selling or offering for sale at public auction stock of goods he may have on hand and at the time when he may in good faith desire to close out such business or reduce his stock, provided further that nothing in this section shall be deemed to apply to the selling or offering for sale at public auction of real estate or livestock or household goods so sold or offered for sale at the premises where the same have been in use by the owners thereof. And provided further that nothing in this section shall be deemed to apply or prohibit any person from calling on the services of an auctioneer for hire.
Every person in the occupation of an auctioneer for hire shall pay a license fee of three dollars ($3.00) per day for each and every day he may be called upon and does act as a public auctioneer.

Sec. 3-1.223. - Garages.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of keeping a garage or place where automobiles or motor vehicles are repaired or stored only, shall pay a license fee proportionate to the amount required in Section 3-1.130.

Sec. 3-1.224. - Printers.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of printing newspapers, cars, circulars or other printed matter in any form, shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.225. - Handbill distributors.¶
Every person, firm or corporation who engages in the business of painting or distributing posters, bills or dodgers or circulars within the City limits shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter or two dollars fifty cents ($2.50) per day.

Sec. 3-1.226. - Peddlers.¶
Every person, firm or corporation, merchant, hawker, peddler, street faker or advertiser who sells or advertises goods, wares or merchandise by music, singing, juggling, speaking or by any means intended to collect a crowd, shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per day.

Sec. 3-1.227. - Temporary business as Horned Toad Derby.¶
Temporary businesses set up through the Chamber of Commerce during the "Horned Toad Derby" festivities shall pay a license fee to the City of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).

Sec. 3-1.228. - Vending of musical instruments.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the vending or peddling of pianos, phonographs, sewing machines or other instruments for use or pleasure, whether or not for immediate delivery, upon a cash or part-time plan, shall pay a license fee in advance of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per quarter or five dollars ($5.00) for each day or part thereof so engaged.

Sec. 3-1.229. - Pawn shops.¶
Every person engaged in the business of conducting a pawn shop or loaning money on household goods, chattels or articles of any description shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.230. - Freight business.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of renting or using for hire, any dray, truck or express wagon, whether operated by horses or automatic power, shall pay a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) per quarter in advance for each and every such vehicle.

Sec. 3-1.231. - Barber or beauty shops.¶
Every person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of conducting a barber shop, or where tonsorial work of any description, manicuring or hairdressing, etc. is done, shall pay a license fee of five dollars ($5.00) per chair, per quarter.

Sec. 3-1.232. - House movers.¶
Each person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of moving houses, buildings or structures, or who shall move any houses, buildings or structures in the City, shall pay a license fee in the amount of twenty dollars ($20.00) for each house, building or structure moved. Said license fee shall be paid in advance.

Sec. 3-1.233. - Hospitals.¶
Every person, firm or corporation conducting, operating, maintaining or managing a hospital or sanitarium for profit shall pay a license fee of seven dollars fifty cents ($7.50) per quarter in advance, provided, however, that no license shall be payable by any nonprofit hospital organization.

Sec. 3-1.234. - Shoe repair.¶
Every person, firm or corporation conducting the business of a shoe repair shop shall pay a license fee of two dollars fifty cents ($2.50) per quarter; provided, however, that should such person, firm or corporation sell ready-made articles or any kind of material not used in repair work, he shall pay a license fee in accordance with Section 3-1.130.

Sec. 3-1.235. - Tailoring.¶
Every person, firm or corporation conducting the business of tailoring shall pay a license fee of two dollars fifty cents ($2.50) per quarter, provided, however, that should such person, firm or corporation sell ready-made articles of any kind or material not used in connection with articles made by himself or repair work, he shall pay a license fee in accordance with Section 3-1.130.

Sec. 3-1.236. - Solicitation of pictures.¶
A license fee of one hundred dollars ($100.00) per annum in advance shall be paid by each person, firm or corporation engaged in the business of soliciting any painting, picture framing, pictures, portraits, photography, or orders for retouching or changing the same, or orders for printing, or advertising in connection therewith.

Sec. 3-1.237. - Bakery products.¶
Every person, firm or corporation conducting a bakery outside the City and who engages in the business of selling bakery products or soliciting orders therefor in the City, whether for resale or not, shall pay a license fee of ten dollars ($10.00) per quarter in advance.
