§ 9165.1. Transportation Demand and Trip Reduction Measures.

  • A. The purpose of this Division 5 is to establish reasonable standards to ensure that, pursuant to the City's General Plan, all necessary transportation demand and trip reduction measures are completed, constructed and adequately provided for prior to the issuance of building permits for certain new buildings and structures and prior to their use and occupancy.

  • B. The provisions of this Division 5 shall not apply to existing buildings or structures, if such buildings or structures comply with all other applicable requirements of this Chapter.

  • C. The provisions of this Division 5 shall apply to all new buildings or structures to be constructed, and the expansion or addition to an existing building or structure. The alteration or interior modification to an existing building or structure shall be considered an expansion if in the determination of the Director, there is a change in occupancy or usage of the building or structure which would require a significant increase in the number of offstreet automobile parking spaces for the primary or intended use. Any expansion, addition or intensification of use which is subject to the provisions of this Division shall be required to provide only the transportation demand and trip reduction measures needed to serve the expansion, addition or intensification of the use.
