Carlsbad Municipal Code Ch. 18.19 Dangerous Building Code

A. The Uniform Code for the Abatement of Dangerous Buildings, 1997 Edition, copyrighted by the International Conference of Building Officials, is adopted by reference as the city dangerous building code, with the exception of Chapters 2, 5, and 6.

B. The building official is hereby authorized and directed to apply the administrative, organizational and enforcement rules and regulations of the building code to replace Chapters 2, 5, and 6 of the dangerous building code. Administrative provisions relating to duties and powers of the building official such as applications and permits, code compliance, enforcement, violations, and penalties and building fees, certificates of occupancy, service utilities, means of appeals, and stop work orders are specified in Sections 103 through 105, and 108 through 116 of the California Building Code, Part 2, Volume 1, Chapter 1-Division II, as amended and adopted by the city.

The building official appointed pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 18.04 is authorized and directed to enforce all the provisions of this chapter.

Any person or corporation who violates any of the provisions of this chapter is guilty of an infraction except for the fourth and each additional violation of a provision within one year which shall be a misdemeanor. Penalties for a violation of this chapter shall be as designated in Section 1.08.010 of this code.
