13.36.010 - Establishment.

There is established in the city a monthly sewer use charge, which shall apply to all residences, commercial establishments, manufacturers, and all other users of the city sewer system.

13.36.020 - Fixing or changing charges—Authority.

The city council is authorized to fix rates for sewer use charges and to change such charges by adoption of a resolution setting forth rules, regulations and charges.

13.36.030 - Fixing or changing charges—Procedure.

A. Notice of Intention. Prior to the adoption of a resolution fixing or changing rules, regulations or charges pertaining to use of city sewers, a notice of intention to adopt such resolution shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in Calexico at least seven days prior to the adoption of such resolution. The notice of intention shall briefly state the contents of the proposed resolution and the proposed date of adoption.

B. Protests. Any resident of the city affected by such resolution shall have the right of protest. Written protests must be filed in the office of the city clerk prior to the hour of hearing. Oral protests may be made at the hearing.

C. Council Action. The city council may, after hearing protests, take any action it may deem to be in the best interests of the residents of the city.
