Calabasas Municipal Code Ch. 6.08 County Animal Control Ordinance

The animal control ordinance of the county of Los Angeles, the same being Title 10 of the Los Angeles County Code, adopted and amended through Ordinance No. 2004-0036, passed June 29, 2004 is hereby adopted by reference as the animal control ordinance of the city of Calabasas (hereinafter referred to as "animal control ordinance").

In the event of any conflict between the provisions of Title 10 of the county of Los Angeles Municipal Codes and or any amendment to the animal code contained in the city of Calabasas municipal code, the provision contained in the Calabasas municipal code shall control.

A copy of Title 10, the animal control ordinance, shall be on file in the office of the city clerk at all times during regular business hours.

Wherever in the animal control ordinance the following words or phrases are used, they respectively shall have the following meanings ascribed to them:

"County" or "county of Los Angeles" means the city of Calabasas.

"County clerk" means the city clerk of the city of Calabasas.

"Unincorporated territory" shall be deemed to refer to the city of Calabasas.

Section 10.36.330(A) of the animal control ordinance is amended to read as follows:

SEC. 10.36.330. A. The provisions of this Section prohibit the Department of Animal Care and Control from releasing any impounded animals for research purposes which were picked up in the City of Calabasas.

The penalty for any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be the same as those in Section 10.04.060 of the animal control ordinance.
