§ 14005.9

(a) Share of cost shall be determined on a monthly basis. No person or family shall be required to incur more than one month’s share of cost prior to being certified as specified in Section 14018.

(b) For persons in long-term care, any income exempted under Sections 14005.4 and 14005.7 shall be considered in the share-of-cost determination to the extent required by federal law or regulations.

(c) Once the beneficiary has incurred expenses for Medicare and other health insurance deductibles or coinsurance charges and necessary medical and remedial services that are not subject to payment by a third party and which equal or exceed his or her share of cost, the individual is entitled to receive health care services pursuant to Section 14005 if all other applicable conditions of eligibility under this chapter are met.
