3-5-201: POULTRY AND RABBITS:

A. License Fee and Application Fee; Approval By Health Officer: Every person engaging in the business of slaughtering and dressing poultry or rabbits for sale at retail, at a place where such fowl or animals are kept, killed and dressed, shall pay a license fee of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per year; applicants for such license shall also pay an application fee of twelve dollars ($12.00). Applications for such license shall be referred to the Health Officer for approval.

B. Slaughtering: No person shall slaughter more than three (3) fowl or more than three (3) rabbits for other than their personal use, except in a slaughterhouse constructed and equipped in accordance with the specifications described in Section 377 of the Los Angeles County Public Health Code.

C. Running at Large in Slaughterhouse: No person shall allow poultry or rabbits to run at large in a slaughterhouse. [Formerly numbered Section 16-25; renumbered by Ord. No. 3058, eff. 2/21/87; 2285.]
