Sec. 2.04.300. - Committee created.¶
A public safety standing Committee for the City is created, which shall be known as the Public Safety Committee of the City of Bradbury.

Sec. 2.04.310. - Meetings.¶
(a) The Committee shall hold regular meetings at a time and date determined by a majority vote of the Committee or, in the absence of agreement, by the City Council. Meetings shall be held at the Bradbury Civic Center or such other location as may be permitted by law.
(b) The City Manager or a designated representative shall attend meetings of the Committee to act in a staff advisory capacity. The City Council may designate one or more members of the Council to attend the Committee meetings to act as liaison between the Council and the Committee.

Sec. 2.04.320. - Duties and functions.¶
The Committee shall act in an advisory capacity in formulating recommendations to the City Council pertaining to:
(a) Law enforcement priorities;
(b) Crime prevention and control;
(c) Animal control;
(d) Emergency preparedness; and
(e) Other duties and functions as may be provided by ordinance, resolution, or direction of the City Council, or by law.
The Committee shall have an advisory role only and shall have no authority to control, supervise, or direct City staff or any public safety personnel.

Sec. 2.04.330. - Membership.¶
(a) The Public Safety Committee shall consist of five primary and five alternate members: two residents of each district, appointed by the member of the City Council representing the district.
(b) The Committee may appoint such other members of the general public, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Red Cross, the County of Los Angeles, FEMA, or other persons or organization to serve as ex officio members of the Committee.
(c) Term of office. Committee members shall serve two-year terms and are eligible for reappointment.
(d) Absences. The City Manager or designee may terminate the membership of a Committee member upon three unexcused absences during a calendar year.
(e) Removal. Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter, any member of the Public Safety Committee shall be subject to removal at any time, with or without cause, by action of the City Council approved by at least three affirmative votes.

Sec. 2.04.340 - Procedures.¶
(a) Agendas for meetings of the Committee shall be posted and prepared in accordance with, and all proceedings of the Committee shall comply with, the Ralph M. Brown Act, California Government Code 54950 et seq.
(b) All requests for information will be directed to the City Manager or designee.
(c) Committee members shall not, while representing the Committee or the City solicit funds, services, or property without the prior approval of the City Council.
