9.24.010 - Playing certain games prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any person to deal, play, carry on or open, or cause to be opened, or to conduct, either as owner, employee or otherwise, whether for hire or not, any game not mentioned or included in Section 330 of the Penal Code of California, or not mentioned in Chapter 5.24, played with cards, dice or any device for money, checks, credits or any other representative of value.

9.24.020 - Barricaded place containing three or more persons—Display of gambling implements prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any person within the limits of the city to exhibit or expose to view, in any barred or barricaded house or room, or in any place built or protected in a manner to make it difficult for access or ingress to police officers, when three or more persons are present, any cards, dice, dominoes, fan-tan tables, or any gambling implements whatsoever.

9.24.030 - Barricaded place containing three or more persons—Visiting prohibited when…¶
It is unlawful for any person within the limits of the city to visit or resort to any barred or barricaded house or room, or other place protected in a manner to make it difficult of access or ingress to police officers, where any cards, dice, dominoes, fan-tan tables or layout, or any part of such layout, or any gambling implements whatsoever, are exhibited or exposed to view, when three or more persons are present.

9.24.040 - Visiting place where gambling practiced prohibited.¶
It is unlawful in the city for any person to become an inmate of or a visitor at any place where gambling is practiced or carried on.

9.24.050 - Permitting gambling prohibited.¶
It is unlawful for any keeper of any hotel, roominghouse or any other place to allow or permit any kind of gambling or gaming for money, goods, merchandise or anything representing value.

9.24.060 - Enforcement authority.¶
It shall be the duty of the chief of police and all police officers of the city to use all legal means in detecting and convicting persons violating any provision of this chapter, and to exercise the right of search given by the law of the state, and to seize and safely keep all chips, checks, cards, apparatus and things used for gambling purposes at any place that may exist contrary to this chapter or laws of the state, and to produce the same in court and retain them until the final disposition of any case in which such articles may be required as evidence. Such articles shall be destroyed by the order of the court after proof has been made of their use for gambling purposes in the city.

9.24.070 - Penalty for violation.¶
Any violation of any of the provisions of this chapter shall constitute a misdemeanor and every person found guilty of violating any of said provisions, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in the sum of not more than three hundred dollars, or imprisoned in the city or county jail for not more than three months, or be punished by both such fine and imprisonment.
