8.28.010 - Definitions.¶
The following words shall have the following meanings:
A. "Natural bathing place" means and includes bays, lakes, both natural and artificial, streams and rivers and all other bathing areas either wholly or partly natural in character.
B. "Public bathing place" means and includes all bodies of water used by groups of people for swimming, diving, wading or recreative bathing, and open to the public; operated, maintained or supervised by any person who receives from the public for its use, any money or other form of compensation in goods, wares, merchandise, labor or otherwise, together with the shores, buildings, equipment and appurtenances related to such places. The term does not include swimming pools. The term does not include baths where the main object is the cleaning of the body or the practice of healing arts.
