Chapter 8.12 — REGULATING EXPLOSIVES

§ 8.12.010. Enforcement of Chapter.¶
All provisions of this chapter shall be carried out and enforced by the law enforcement agency of the City, and by the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the consolidated Fire Protection District. The general supervision of conditions and equipment which aid in control of fire, conditions constituting fire hazards or danger to life or property, and the abatement or minimizing of such fire hazards or dangerous conditions shall be the responsibility of the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Consolidated Fire Protection District. § 8.12.020. "Explosive" Defined.¶
"Explosive" and "explosives" whenever used in this Code shall mean to include blasting caps or other detonating or fulminating caps or detonator or electric caps, gun powder, blasting powder, dynamite and every other explosive substance having a power equal to or greater than that of ordinary black powder, but do not include said substances in the form of fixed ammunition for small arms.
