§ 17.12.010. Designation of zones. ¶
A. The following zones are established within the city, in order to carry out the purposes of this title.
R-1 (Single-Family Residential)
R-2 (Light Multiple Residential)
R-3 (Heavy Multiple Residential)
C-3R (General Commercial and Residential)
C-3 (General Commercial)
C-M (Commercial Manufacturing)
M (Manufacturing)
T (Transitional)
B. The most restrictive zone under this code shall be deemed to be zone R-1, the other zones shall be deemed to be less restrictive in the order set forth in subsection A of this section.

§ 17.12.020. Zoning map. ¶
There is adopted the official zoning map of the City of Bell, a true copy of which is attached to the ordinance codified in this section, marked "Exhibit A," and incorporated herein by this reference. All properties within the city are placed in the zones as indicated on such map. Such map shall remain on file in the office of the city clerk of the city, and all changes to such map shall be noted thereon as soon as the same become effective. The official zoning map for the city may be amended by reference to this section.

§ 17.12.030. Uncertainty of boundaries. ¶
Where uncertainty exists as to boundaries of any zone shown upon the official zoning map, or any part thereof or amendment thereto, the same shall be resolved pursuant to Section 17.04.090 of this code.

§ 17.12.040. Zoning of annexed areas. ¶
Areas annexed to the city may be classified in an appropriate zone by urgency ordinance of the city council, unless the council elects to utilize the prezoning procedure, as set forth in Section 65859 of the Government Code of the State of California. (Prior code § 9243)
§ 17.12.050. Zoning of property not designated on zoning map. ¶
Any property which, for any reason, is not designated on the zoning map as being classified in any of the zones established by this chapter, shall be deemed to be classified in zone R-1. (Prior code § 9244)
