Sec. 5.08.010. - Auto wrecking.¶
The license fee for the purchase and sale of damaged motor vehicles or parts is $100.00 per year.

Sec. 5.08.020. - Barbershop.¶
The license fee for a barbershop is $30.00 per year for one chair, plus $10.00 per year for each additional chair.

Sec. 5.08.030. - Baths, public.¶
The license for public baths of any type, including steam, hamman, Turkish, mineral, mud, vapor, medicinal or otherwise, is $60.00 per year.

Sec. 5.08.040. - Beauty shop.¶
The license fee for a beauty shop is $30.00 per year for one operator, plus $10.00 per year for each additional operator. This section includes all businesses performing services of women's hair dressing and/or facial treatments wherever the same shall be performed.

Sec. 5.08.050. - Bureaus, travel; ticket agencies.¶
The license fee for travel bureaus, when operated independently of any common carrier, is $30.00 per year.

Sec. 5.08.060. - Cleaners, laundries.¶
For soliciting, receiving or delivering clothing or textiles of any form or nature, in any manner, for dry cleaning or laundry services or other cleaning services, when such dry cleaning, laundry or other cleaning services are performed outside of the city, the license fee is $60.00 per year for each vehicle engaged or operated in such soliciting, receiving or delivering.

Sec. 5.08.070. - Confectionery wagons.¶
(a) For the sale or offering for sale of ice cream, soft drinks, candies, prepared foodstuffs or other foods for immediate consumption from any wagon or other vehicle operated in the street by any licensee not having an established retail place of business with the city, the license fee is $25.00 per year for each vehicle.
(b) When any such vehicle is operated by an established licensed retail place of business in the city, the license fee is $20.00 per year for each vehicle.

Sec. 5.08.080. - Contractors; builders.¶
This section refers to contractors, as defined in division 3, chapter 9, article 2, section 7026 of the Business and Professions Code. Contractors who undertake, or offer to undertake, the performance of any work of improvement, maintenance, alteration or repair in or upon real property, the annual license fee is as follows:

Sec. 5.08.090. - Dances, public.¶
The license fee for operating a public dance hall is $200.00 per year; for operating or conducting a single public dance, $15.00 per year, each.

Sec. 5.08.100. - Gymnasium.¶
(a) Public. The license fee for operating any public gymnasium, physical or health conditioning or physical training business is $100.00 per year.
(b) Private. The license fee for operating any private gymnasium, physical or health conditioning or physical training business, to which individual membership is held or available, is $100.00 per year.

Sec. 5.08.110. - Hotels, motels, lodginghouse, etc.¶
For operating any hotel, motel or similar accommodation, the license fee is $4.00 per year for each such rental unit rented or offered for rent.

Sec. 5.08.120. - Importing of merchandise for wholesale.¶
(a) For the importing into the city, for any delivery therein, of any goods, wares or merchandise, when such importing and delivery is by means of any vehicle operated upon the public streets or highways, the license fees for such importing and delivery shall be based upon the average number of importings and deliveries per week and shall be in accord with the following schedule:

(b) The license fees in this section apply to each and every vehicle used and/or employed in the importing of merchandise under this section; provided, however, in no case shall these fees exceed $200.00 per year.
(c) The term "importing of merchandise," or any variation, as used in this section, refers to importing of merchandise at wholesale only, and for the purpose of resale. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any importing of goods, wares or merchandise where the sale and/or delivery of any goods, wares or merchandise is at retail to the ultimate consumer and/or user of such goods, wares or merchandise.
(d) This section shall not apply to vehicles owned and/or operated by an established licensed place of business in the city and used exclusively for such licensed business.

Sec. 5.08.130. - Importing of merchandise for retail sale.¶
(a) Whenever any business consists of the sale and delivery, at retail, of goods, wares or merchandise from house to house, or place to place, when such business does not maintain and operate an established retail sales store, market, or other fixed business in the city for retail sales to the general public, such business shall pay a license fee of $50.00 per year for each and every vehicle used in the conduct of business.
(b) The term "vehicle," as used in this section, includes all automobiles, vans, trailers, or other means of transportation of persons or property on the public streets.
(c) The term "sale at retail," as used in this section, refers to all sales where the delivery of goods, wares or merchandise is to the ultimate consumer and/or user.
(d) The provisions of this section refer only to regularly established and regularly operated retail sales routes, and shall not apply to any transient, sporadic or irregular sales business which shall be classified as itinerant sales under the provisions of section 5.08.140.

Sec. 5.08.140. - Itinerant vendor, peddler, salesman, solicitor, etc.¶
(a) For the sale or solicitation for sale of any goods, wares or merchandise to the ultimate consumer when the seller has no established place of business in the city, the license fee is $15.00 per day, per individual person, or $50.00 per quarter.
(b) Itinerant Christmas tree vendors shall pay a license fee of $25.00 per quarter, except for the following:
(1) Sale of trees as a part of, and on the premises of, an established place of business shall include Christmas tree sales as part of the gross receipts of such business.
(2) Sale of trees solely for the benefit of a charitable or nonprofit organization.

Sec. 5.08.150. - Masseur.¶
The license fee for masseurs is $40.00 per year for each masseur and masseuse.

Sec. 5.08.160. - Palmist, fortuneteller, clairvoyant, etc.¶
For practicing or engaging in the business of palmist, fortuneteller, clairvoyant, phrenologist, astrologer, necromancer, or any kindred business, the license fee is $100.00 per year or any fraction thereof without proration.

Sec. 5.08.170. - Photographer, itinerant.¶
For every itinerant photographer or itinerant vendor or solicitor of photographic services the license fee is $15.00 per day or $75.00 per quarter.

Sec. 5.08.180. - Professions and specified personal services.¶
(a) For the rendering and performing of business services in the classifications specified in this section, a license fee is due and payable annually as follows:

(b) In the event of an omission of any profession not listed above, the minimum license fee is $40.00 per year, per person so engaged.
(c) Whenever more than one person is engaged in the conduct of a profession listed in this section, in association with others of the same profession, the license fee for each such additional person is 40 percent of the license fee established for such profession.

Sec. 5.08.190. - Private detective, private patrol, watchman.¶
For the business of private detective, private watchman and/or merchant patrol, the license fee is $30.00 per year for each individual person employed or engaged therein.

Sec. 5.08.200. - Shoe shining.¶
For operating any shoe shine stand or parlor or conducting the business of boot-blacking or shoe shining, the license fee is $5.00 per year without proration for each individual person so employed; provided, however, that payment of such fee shall be waived for any operator under the age of 16 years.

Sec. 5.08.210. - Shows, theaters, carnivals, exhibitions.¶
(a) For engaging in the business of operating any theater, playhouse or motion picture house at an established place of business, wholly within a structure designed and constructed for theater or auditorium purposes, the license fee shall be $100.00 per year.
(b) For operating any carnival, traveling show, circus, collection of shows and/or attractions, exhibitions, rides, concessions, animal or mechanical, games of skill or chance, wherever conducted, the license fee is $75.00 per day, plus $10.00 per day for each concession booth, stand, exhibition, show, sideshow amusement, ride, game, gallery, attraction or other unit.
(c) Whenever any exhibition consists solely of the exhibition of any animal or article of public interest contained in, or upon, a single vehicle not operated in connection with any carnival, circus, or traveling show, the license fee is $10.00 per day for each exhibit in, or upon, such vehicle.

Sec. 5.08.220. - Solicitor, salesman, service repairman or canvasser.¶
(a) A solicitor, salesman, service repairman or canvasser, for the purpose of this section, refers to any person who goes from house to house or place to place, or at any place, soliciting or taking orders for or offering to sell any goods, wares or merchandise for future delivery to the ultimate consumer or user; or soliciting or taking orders for any services or repairing to be performed in the future or doing or performing any services or repairs. The provisions of this section shall not apply to any solicitor, salesman, service repairman or canvasser employed by any business maintaining and operating an established place of business in the city.
(b) Every solicitor, salesman, service repairman or canvasser shall pay a license fee of $40.00 per year.

Sec. 5.08.230. - Tattoo artists.¶
The license fee for tattoo artists is $500.00 per year. In addition, the operator shall file with the city clerk a certificate of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 naming the city as an additionally named insured.

Sec. 5.08.240. - Trucking, hauling.¶
(a) For the business of owning and operating any vehicle and/or vehicles for transportation of property for hire, irrespective of point of origin or destination of haul, where such business has an established place of business within the city, the annual license fee is $30.00 for the first vehicle plus $10.00 for each additional vehicle.
(b) When the business specified in this section has no established place of business, the annual fee for operation of each vehicle operated is $30.00.

Sec. 5.08.250. - Wrestling; boxing.¶
(a) For operating or maintaining any wrestling or boxing arena for professional wrestling or boxing contests or exhibitions at an established place of business, the license fee is $120.00 per year.
(b) For holding professional wrestling or boxing contests or exhibitions not conducted or held at an established place of business, the license fee is $25.00 per day.
