5.32.010 - Prohibition.¶
No person shall go in or upon private residential properties for the purpose of soliciting, peddling, hawking, or selling merchandise or services if there exists in view on said property or residence a sign described in Section 5.32.020.

5.32.020 - Signs.¶
The Finance Director shall cause to be produced a quantity of signs in blue with white lettering, approximately 2¼ inches high by 7½ inches wide, which state:

5.32.030 - Distribution.¶
Any owner or occupant of a residence within the City of Atwater may obtain a sign at cost from the City Finance Department. Upon placement of such sign on or within immediate proximity of the door or doors to said residence, the prohibition of Section 5.32.010 shall be in effect.

5.32.040 - Registration.¶
Any person intending to go upon residential properties not displaying a sign as described in Section 5.32.020, shall first obtain a permit from the Chief of Police.
Unless exempt by the terms of Section 5.04.070, such person shall also obtain a business license.

5.32.050 - Permit.¶
Upon receipt of the application, the Chief of Police shall issue a permit to such person which shall be carried by said person at all times during the period of selling, vending, etc. If the activities are conducted by minors, a supervising adult shall apply for the permit and shall provide duplicates to each participating minor.
