§ 6-2.201. Purpose and Intent.

In order to comply with the California Integrated Waste Management Act and the Green Building Standards Code of the City of Artesia, it is necessary for persons seeking to demolish or build a new structure to minimize materials deposited in landfills. In furtherance thereof, it is the intent of the City, in enacting this article, to establish and implement a Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Program to ensure that solid waste generated at job sites is reduced, recycled, and reused in accordance with the California Integrated Waste Management Act and the Green Building Standards Code of the City of Artesia.

§ 6-2.202. Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Program.

The City Council shall, by resolution, adopt a Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Program and adopt policies and procedures for the Program to meet diversion rates required under the California Integrated Waste Management Act and the Green Building Standards Code of the City of Artesia.

§ 6-2.203. Penalties.

Any person, firm, or corporation violating any of the provisions of the City's Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling Program shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor punishable as set forth in Section 1-2.01 of this Code and/or Chapter 7 of Title 1 of this Code.
