§ 5-6.01 LICENSE REQUIRED.¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to open, conduct, or carry on, or to participate in the opening, conducting, or carrying on, of a dance or dances in any public hall, public ballroom, or any other place in the city where an admission fee or charge of any kind or nature is collected without first securing a license therefor from the city as provided in this chapter. The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to dance halls which have obtained permits from the Council as authorized by this code.

§ 5-6.02 LICENSE APPLICATION.¶
(A) No license shall be issued by the Director of Financial Services pursuant to the provisions of this chapter until three days after an application therefor in writing shall have been filed with the Director of Financial Services. The application in writing shall be verified under oath by the applicant and shall state the following:
(1) The name and residence of the applicant or applicants;
(2) The place where the public dance for which the license is desired is to be held;
(3) The date or dates when the public dance is to be held; and
(4) The admission price to be charged the patrons thereof.
(B) Such application shall also contain an agreement executed by the applicant agreeing to comply with all the conditions, rules, and regulations of this chapter.

§ 5-6.03 LICENSE FEE.¶
A license fee for each dance in an amount to be determined by resolution shall be collected in advance of the issuance of the license by the Director of Financial Services and by him paid into the General Fund of the city. Such license fee shall be paid by the person applying for such license.

§ 5-6.04 ISSUANCE OF LICENSE.¶
Licenses for conducting dances pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be issued by the Director of Financial Services. All such licenses issued by the Director of Financial Services shall specify in writing the date on which each dance and the place where each dance licensed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be conducted.

§ 5-6.05 REVOCATION OF LICENSE.¶
(A) Violations. Licenses for conducting dances pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be revocable at any time by the Council after a hearing for the violation of any rule or regulation set forth in this chapter.
(B) Notice of hearing. In the event of a violation of any rule or regulation set forth in this chapter, notice shall be sent to the licensee in writing by the City Clerk to appear before the Council to show cause why such license should not be revoked.
(C) Hearing. At the hearing before the Council the licensee shall show cause, if any he has, why such license should not be revoked.
(D) Revocation. After the hearing before the Council, if it appears to the Council that any of the rules or regulations set forth in this chapter have been violated by any licensee, the license of such person shall be revoked.

§ 5-6.06 REISSUANCE OF LICENSE.¶
No new license shall be issued to conduct dances pursuant to the provisions of this chapter to any person whose previous license issued under the provisions of this chapter has been revoked.

§ 5-6.07 LICENSE NONTRANSFERABLE; EXCEPTION.¶
No license issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall be transferable except with the consent of the Council first had and obtained.

§ 5-6.08 RULES AND REGULATIONS.¶
It shall be unlawful for the holder of any such license to violate or permit the violation of any of the following conditions, rules, and regulations, or any part thereof, at or in connection with any dance held under such license:
(A) No dance shall be conducted after the hour of 3:00 a.m. and before the hour of 9:00 a.m. of any day.
(B) No person under the age of 18 years shall be permitted to attend such dances unless accompanied by parents or guardian or some adult person having the care or custody of such person.
(C) No disorderly or noisy conduct shall be permitted on the premises where any such dance is conducted.
(D) No person under the influence of intoxicating liquor shall be permitted to enter or to remain in any public dance hall or in any place where any dance is conducted under a license issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
(E) The licensee shall be accountable for the peaceable, quiet, and lawful conduct of any dance conducted under a license issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
